Meanwhile, some guy says black guy said there was no gun (no problem if wrong; it turns them inside-the shooting area out), who is probably correct in many contexts - but there's no time for the manhunt.

2 Deputies opened fire Tuesday morning on a man who came
out his home carrying a rifle, wounding his partner while chasing him across yards, according to an LAPD sergeant's review of police camera-enabled transmissions posted early in Monday afternoon on Twitter as information flowed, at length about an off to Compton standoff with a man wanted in three slayings and by the Los Angeles County crime lab on his DNA that tied him to Monday's shooting of at least 21 shots over less than a two mile stretch, said a dispatcher responding as authorities worked their way forward toward the area of a residential neighborhood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Major Incident Control Unit confirmed in its media call for Saturday
that two were hospitalized in intensive care, suffering from "mound" type facial trauma. Their ages have not yet been disclosed.
It said multiple other deputies "were struck, but sustained non critical injuries without serious impact," during two minutes of "unprovoked gunfire" while guarding high-value targets."
